Woman all over the world produce exquisite textiles, skillfully woven or elaborately embellished with beadwork and intricate embroidery. The meagre financial benefits they derive from this work bear little relation to the long hours of labor and high levels of skill, creativity and dedication required. This largely unrecognized art form is also an important repository of cultural, social and religious traditions.
